ABOUT ME
Emmy is from Emporia, KS and graduated from the University of Kansas in 2021 with a B.S. in chemical engineering. They joined the Gebbie Lab in the Fall of 2021 and is co-advised with Dr. Zavala. Outside of the lab, Emmy enjoys disc golfing, road tripping, and rooting for the Badgers and the Jayhawks.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Emmy’s research interests lie within the fields of sustainable engineering and machine learning—currently, in high-throughput electrolyte screening. Recently, ionic liquids have gained gained prominence as a safe and environmentally conscious potential alternative for renewable energy storage; however, ionic liquids span a broad range of compounds to compare. Emmy works to develop machine learning models to predict useful ionic liquid solutions and to experimentally evaluate their potential for energy storage, discharge, and application in electrochemistry.
